Hulot is the name of the main character in the film “Mon Oncle”.
Borrowing his name is no coincidence: we are closely identified with his view of life.
He makes the connection between real life and sophistication, between the lived-in neighbourhood and the hostile mansion. He takes the same road every day, passing from one world to the other when he goes to pick up his nephew, and he doesn’t always understand what’s happening on the other side.
Tatí, the director – a lover of beauty and critic of the useless – obliges us to reflect on the true purpose of architecture.
To us, the secret lies in knowing how to travel that road.
That’s why we call ourselves Hulot.
And that’s why the road is our icon.
